Come on holiday and be a part of the family, yet maintain your privacy and total independence. Your new home will be a small traditional Dalmatian detached stone cottage consisting of a combined kitchen/dining area with fireplace, bathroom with shower, and stairs leading up to a bright but cosy double bedroom area. All antique furniture and original artwork ensures a unique experience.
Free high-speed internet is available, as are laundry services. There is a vine-covered patio, as well as a garden with the obligatory Dalmatian grill. This is necessary for all the fresh caught fish, and wonderful local meat. NO A/C as we are nature lovers, but the shutters and thick stone walls will keep you cool. Child, toddler and baby bed available.
We are situated in an ancient picturesque quarter of town called Varoš (Varosh). It is primarily residential, but a few minutes down hill to the Riva, where all the sea front bars can be found. The beach is a 15 minute walk. Within 3 minutes you will find a well equipped general store, a traditional bakery and butchers, and many excellent restaurants selling local cuisine. You will not go hungry or thirsty.
Within a 20 minute walk you can be in the main marina, the nearest rent-a-car office, taxi rank, the large national and international ferry port, and the railway and the bus stations. So it is easy for you to get here, and should you want…away too!
We are perfectly placed for leisure and activities. Our beautiful forest-park Marjan is up the steps, and will leave you breathless at the view and the exertion. You can join the locals in their early morning jog, or take it easy with the sunset in the late afternoon. Enjoy a coffee with the panoramic view over the city, sea, islands and mountains.
Unusually for many hosts, I am a licensed City of Split tour guide, so I am happy to show you around and give you advice on the best places to go within the old town. I want you to have a wonderful experience here so we can also organise day trips to nearby sites, and the stunning National Parks, UNESCO Towns, archaeological sites, wine and olive oil tastings, Game of Thrones filming location visits. You name it, we can do it.
We love art, animals, difference so if you have children or pets, please bring them. If you are here round 20th August, we dress up Roman style and celebrate the nights of Diocletian, the great Roman Emperor. We organise public events in our quarter of town. So if you want to participate, you are welcome.
If you plan to propose and surprise your better half, let me know and we could help you do something unforgettable for her/him. I’m also a symbolic wedding officiant so if you want a wedding ceremony I can assist with that to make it unique and special.
